Portrait of Alison plot
"A post card killer threatens artists, models, diamonds and MURDER!"
A car drives over a steep slope and crashes down. The two deceased occupants are identified as newspaper publisher Lewis Forrester and actress Alison Ford. Lewis's two brothers, the portrait painter Tim and the pilot Dave, survive the accident. Scotland Yard discovers that Lewis's death was staged by a gang of international diamond smugglers, which Lewis wanted to write an article about. Tim is commissioned by Alison's father to paint a portrait of his daughter from a photograph of her, which Lewis had sent shortly before his death. Scotland Yard Inspector Colby doesn't trust Tim, especially after his favorite model Jill Stewart is found murdered and he is blackmailed by Reg Dorking, a used car salesman.

Strongly played mystery, where the plot is interesting. Good acting by Beatty, lighting very good. Nothing seems what it is or does it..? Griffin and Moore give a good indication of the style and beauty of those days.
