A very bad B-movie. They don't have a good shot at the Aliens and they only film in one place.

Quite a surprise this science fiction film in which a robbery in a supermarket has a completely different intention than the usual reason. A quest for aliens that appear to be human. The storyline is interesting, but the setting is a bit simple. Still, this setting with its limited size manages to get the tension out of it, because despite the fact that the kill count is limited, the film manages to captivate until the end.

setback.

The first fifteen minutes was also immediately hit, because at a high pace you are immediately sucked into the story. It also immediately seems to be going in a pretty different direction and since the madness breaks out fairly early, get your popcorn ready early. It's a shame that the film then chooses a different direction.

The film eventually turns more into a hostage film. That's no problem, but Alien Raiders chooses to have at least an hour of its playing time in a dark room. Not only does the story quickly become unbearable, but the dullness quickly disappears. When it even starts to drag as a whole, you notice that your attention immediately wanes.

The poster is also a bit misleading, because this film chooses a more subdued path. More mutual tensions instead of aliens. No, Alien Raiders leaves the alien scum out of the picture for a long time and also only shows them very rarely. That shouldn't be a problem (for me) either, but then let the images that you do show captivate.

In the end I was just bored. The characters are flat and boring, the story is slow after a while and the tension is nowhere to be found. The main problem, however, is the dark setting it is in. The illuminated supermarket in the first fifteen minutes works great, but after that the lights go out and you look at a dark, unobtainable setting. An incomprehensible choice if you ask me.

In the end, the film ends unsatisfactorily and there is nothing left of the high tempo that the first fifteen minutes used. Too bad, because briefly this film showed some potential. The film lacks pace, tension and science fiction. For a movie that sells itself this way, Alien Raiders is pretty boring, which is a shame, because there was definitely potential.
