And there's 1 again. A group of teenagers and a psycho mister.

The premise is a killer who can escape from a reel of film. Ok, film roll or videotape.. Who cares.. Sounds like The Ring?
I think they got a little carried away from that.

But then we're not there yet. At one point the killer says ''I smell fear!. So the more scared you are, the more power he gets, Heeey, where have I heard that before. Pennywise the Clown?

And the plot also reminded me of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Well, that's how original this movie is.

Furthermore, it is not surprising and most actors act very badly. And yet it was all quite pleasant to watch. Some nice gore effects here and there. (but not much) And the film is nice and short.

2.5*

Two films that flow into each other and influence each other is a nice fact. A film screening of a cult film from the 1970s has that effect. We don't see very much of the cult film, but the images we do see have an atmospheric impact. In moody black and white, happy flower-power youngsters have car trouble and end up at a house whose residents are not well. What follows is a standard story with a killer. Amusing.
Although the 1970s film is not the actual film and only serves as a filler, the images that are shown are not bad at all. Fragments of the black-and-white film run continuously through the real film and create a creepy atmosphere. The actual film barely succeeds at that.
That is not due to the excellent setting, by the way. The place of action is a cinema in which only a few visitors and a single member of staff are present. In this unsociable atmosphere, the black-and-white film is very intrusive and creates an unpleasant and ominous atmosphere. Tasty. During the horror action, the cold film images and film sounds in the background also enhance the atmosphere of the events in the foreground.
Too bad the creepy setting doesn't transfer to the characters. They are extremely irritating, remain much too playful and are thus unable to serve the black and white threat to become really scary. The tension is missing. It's all just a little too fun. Sometimes fun and jolly, but usually annoyingly jolly.
Now the acting is also very bad and the characters are also very flat. Not much fun to be had there. By the way, they are quite acceptable as beef cattle. And that's a good thing, because in the last half hour the film grows into a true feast of blood and gore as the killer with his deadly weapon in hand scours the cinema in search of victims.
It came a little late, but it really cheered me up.
