Debout les Crabes, la Mer Monte! plot
Marthe, a prostitute, was imprisoned for a crime she had not committed. After five years, she is released when it turns out that she was innocent and that her former pimp was responsible for the crime. She travels to Nantes by train. In the train car, she meets a 35-year-old professor of geography, to whom she tells her story. The man clearly cares for her and invites her to his home, where they are well received by him and his wife. But her heart still burns with the desire to take revenge on whoever was responsible for her years of incarceration.
