A Doll's House plot
Years ago, Nora Helmer (Alla Nazimova) committed a crime to save the life of her authoritarian husband Torvald (Alan Hale). By faking her dead father's name, she was able to get a loan from ex-criminal Nils Krogstad. Years later, her past catches up with her and she gives in to the blackmail, terrified that her husband will find out and it will destroy his career. Torvald has become an executive of the bank where Nils also works and he wants to fire him.
