Ayiii. What a miss.

This movie is uninteresting from start to finish :

- a hideous Hillary Swank

- little depth. The affair with Gene Vidal is handled very quickly, while I found that a fascinating fact.

- stiff and conventional

- irritating poetic voice overs in which Swank is reading exactly from a book.

but...

with beautiful airplane scenes. And with that I had to take satisfaction.

Disappointing film .. I didn't know exactly what to expect, but I had estimated the film a bit better. Especially because of the great cast. Hilary Swank also played a good role. Ewan McGregor and Richard Gere too, but they couldn't show what they have to offer with the roles they had here. The flashbacks are also nice, but the whole thing comes across as a bit messy. In addition, the film did not captivate me for the entire running time. At one point, somewhere halfway, I even had to struggle not to fall asleep. In general it's not too bad to have seen it once, but I can't really call it a good film.

2*

Funny, google for photos of Lindbergh (the first to cross the Atlantic in an airplane) and Earhart, and they look like brother and sister. Earhart was also said to be a lesbian and having an affair with Eleanor Roosevelt, the wife of the then US president. It is also speculated (fantasised) that she landed on an island in her attempt to fly around the world, and that she fell into the hands of the Japanese who allegedly executed her as a spy... Swank is doing well, but the movie goes nowhere deeper than scratch the surface.
