What a difficult time that officer had with the deceased 8-year-old boy. I can hardly imagine what that man went through in terms of emotions. Nothing else too American, all emotions, support each other? We would do that anywhere. Nice to be part of the treasure hunt with current technology. They have had work to do but it is top notch. Well the suspects had 0 feeling that was clear, you can't imagine that such people really exist.

Ps those guys were really crazy dude

I'm generally not a big fan of movies about dramatic true stories. The Sully's, Deepwater Horizons, Captain Philipsen and United 93s of the world, it just doesn't appeal to me, and most of the time it turns out to be justified - even with a quality product it gets me a little less than many other films.

Patriots Day also has a bit of that shortcoming. But this was also a film that has a special edge to me, since I myself have lived in Cambridge, MA for a number of years and have also run marathons (but not Boston's). Now the marathon aspect does not play such a big role, although it is of course where the attack took place. But I did see a lot of well-known locations passing by, and that certainly made quite an impression in the first half hour. Now this is also just a very solid film, further; no exaggerated jingoism, but a nice pace, and catchy characters without becoming too tear-jerking. Also a role that fits Mark Wahlberg perfectly. It didn't help that I actually already knew the whole story and saw very little new, also a bit of a central problem in the genre and a reason that it was a bit less interesting for me. Nevertheless, this was well worth it.

I had confused this film and especially the attack with the attack that took place during the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. For that we Richard Jewell (Film, 2019 ). So here's the Boston marathon where two Chechens were responsible for the bloody attack over there.

What struck me and I also liked about the film was Berg's unheroic approach. I already feared a kind of one man show from Whalberg after he was briefly demoted in a "typical" and unjustly way, but suddenly let everyone show that he was a super cop after all. Wouldn't match actual events, of course, but still. Berg opted for a staggered joint approach to the police services. Unity and togetherness were central during this crisis.

The manhunt was spectacular with quite a bit of action and violence. Still, this was fairly balanced with the drama itself and the chaos that followed shortly after. Entertaining and well presented. Nice to catch this one on Netflix.
