"PISTOL-PACKING GHOSTS TERRORIZE A GOLD TOWN - till Gene and Champ start haunting them!"
Ed Wheeler shoots Jim Granby and Gene Autry arrests him. Wheeler believes that if Granby dies, he cannot be convicted, because he has already spent ten years in prison for the murder of Granby. Wheeler looks back and we see that Wheeler and Granby founded the town of Goldtown, based on an exaggerated gold supply. Granby then blackmailed Wheeler. Wheeler had assumed that he had killed Granby, which was why he confessed.
