One of the better old Woos, and besides the two best known also the nicest surprise.

Quite a short film that actually flies in right away. You can see that Woo still lacks some choreography, but cool shots are not strange to him. Very nice action scenes where everything explodes. That not everyone who flies away is always near the explosion, you have to accept.

Lead actor does well, also the bad guy is nicely bad ass. And indeed quite coarse, lots of blood, torn off limbs and "protected" characters are also not exactly spared. Woo likes to aim for drama, but here they sometimes fall in droves.

Fortunately, he doesn't dwell too much on the drama and happily moves on to the next action scene, apart from two small (and rather strange) intermezzos.

Woo still lacks a bit of insight into how to best weave everything together, but the action scenes are already convincing and there is little unnecessary fat in this film.

3.5*, nice surprise, surprisingly few votes (and messages).

Today watched on a beautiful blu-ray of 88 films! Very nice picture and sound.

The film itself is also good to watch, the film has no build-up and therefore starts immediately with explosions and shootings back and forth, this continues throughout the film, only the middle section with the dice / gambling I thought lasted a bit too long.

Also a good final battle, didn't think the main character could hold out that long! and the villain was also very well portrayed, also some humor and here and there some nudity.

Movie was pretty hard too, with a lot of blood, but I've seen harder movies with ripped off limbs (Xtremo / ''Headshot'' and ''The raid films for example) this was okay.

Yes, this was a film that captivated me.
