Boy, was this fun!

The original Disney cartoon is one of my favorite Disney's, so the bar was set pretty high. But how Disney has exceeded my expectations! It has become a visual gem, everything is beautifully designed with attention to the smallest details.

The story has also been expanded, so that the (main) characters get much more background and their actions and emotions become clearer. Because more time was taken to tell the complete (and supplemented) story, it touched me even more than the original Disney animation. It felt on the fast side at times (looked again last week in preparation for this one). Logical, because it shouldn't take too long for children. But it was nice to make this more mature version last longer too, which allowed it to sink in more.

The acting was very good and all the songs were performed wonderfully, and the extra songs were a delight too.

Nothing but praise for this Disney! I watched with goosebumps and tears in my eyes because of all the childhood sentiment and the extent to which the film touched me. In my opinion at least as good as the original Disney animation!

He gets the full blow from me and I'll just go to the cinema again soon, because other company wants to see him too...and then I'll enjoy it just as much as this time (maybe even more!)

Sacre bleu what a wonderful film adaptation!

In the beginning I thought: help, what a fine decoration. As soon as the first song started with Belle, I was hooked. By the way, I've seen the cartoon way too many times in my childhood + it's my favorite Disney movie. So I'm a bit biased too. On the one hand, the film stays close to the original. Although it has been years since I saw the Disney version: what a feast of landmarks! At the same time, it was also given its own twist. I could enjoy this.

First I had to get used to the beast. Yes, logical. He's not the prettiest. He's just different than I expected. In the cartoon it just looks a bit slicker. (Hence: Like he had a gigantic load of gel in his hair.) I was expecting him to be um… bulkier too. Maybe I looked at it differently in my youth. Then you are also more easily intimidated. The accents, the looks, here and there the same timing as in cartoon. Awesome!

I immediately notice how my parents raised me. A few Disney movies and you'll be fine. The various morals such as 'don't immediately go by appearance', 'freedom of choice', etc. are very much on top. Fortunately, that doesn't spoil the fun.

PS That library...gasp!
