Informative and attractive. The latter in particular stands out. A lot of attention for Ali of course, a little for Foreman (a little more would have been nice), but also for the stuff that traveled to Zaire. With James Brown and BB King you immediately have a nice soundtrack. It becomes really African when the succubus comes into view and is discussed. Don King has to be seen to be believed. The build up to the fight could have been a bit bigger, but whatever. How Ali bluffs his own fear before and during the match and leaves the whole (boxing) world watching in amazement is truly amazing. Ali, boma ye!

Atmospheric and sultry (partly due to the excellent editing) documentary in which Ali steals the show mainly outside the ring this time. In addition, an excellent image of the time with a beautiful, matching soundtrack. A classic in the genre.

Excellent documentary, not so much about Ali's entire career, but mainly focusing on the legendary 1974 match against George Foreman in Zaire. Ali is, of course, a rewarding subject; as a documentary maker you really only have to portray him and he sells himself as a boxing stand-up comedian. Nevertheless, sensible interviews with all kinds of people involved and journalists from that time have been added, which give the whole thing some extra added value. Great archive shots anyway, and for a complete layman like me, the documentary was actually quite exciting, since I didn't know the outcome of the game!
