La Reine Margot plot

August 1572. To ease religious tensions, Paris celebrates the diplomatic wedding of the Catholic Marguerite de Valois, sister of King Charles IX, to Henri de Bourbon, King of Navarre and Protestant. Two friendly people, La Môle and Coconas, from the opposing camps strive for national reconciliation, but despite their good will, the intrigues of others prevail. The unscrupulous Catherine de Médicis orders a massacre.
