The Witness plot
Bill Genovese spent ten years investigating the truth about the mythical death and little-known life of his sister Kitty, who was allegedly stabbed in front of 38 witnesses and became the figurehead of urban apathy. “The Witness” begins in 2004, when The Times questioned the original story: the number of witnesses, what they observed, and the number of stab wounds. No one was more influenced by the story than Bill. Swore not to act like the 38 witnesses, he volunteered to serve in the army for Vietnam and lost both legs. What if Kitty's story is a myth?
