Traitor plot
"The truth is complicated."
When target-oriented FBI agent Roy Clayton takes the lead in an investigation into international conspiracies, all leads seem to lead to former US Special Operations officer Samir Horn. The inter-agency task force is looking forward to meeting with Carter, a CIA veteran who apparently has his own agenda, and Max Archer, an FBI agent friend. The task force links Horn to a prison break in Yemen, a bomb attack in Nice and a robbery in London. Obsessed with finding the truth, Clayton Horn searches the globe as the illustrious and elusive ex-CIA operative digs deeper and deeper into a world of shadows and intrigue.

All in all, a minor setback. The subject appealed to me in advance, the reviews were positive and the cast seemed strong to me.
It's certainly not a bad film, but it never gets really exciting, special or innovative. In my opinion, a lot more could have been taken out of the story, at least more than just throwing clichés out of the hat as is the case now.
The cast is fine, Don Cheadle carries the film with gusto. It also looks slick, beautiful locations, well edited and a great atmosphere. Still, I'm afraid I won't be able to remember much of this film next year.

Very nice thriller. structure and story in that sense quite simple but from the beginning it is clear to me that there must be an 'angle' to the character of Cheadle. He's beyond suspicion, his background too beautiful, and something about his presence is too misplaced that he's just a "terrorist." It is very clear to me that he is a mole that no one knows at the end a nice switch the death of Jeff Daniels, the only one who knows that Cheadle is a mole and with that some extra tension regarding the outcome. Is this okay?
Intelligent film, good plot with subplots, good acting, Pearce would have liked a bit more in the picture from me, and nice atmosphere.

Not a great movie but pretty good. The story is well put together and the cast is good. The film is thrilling and captivating because of the unexpected twists and turns. Too bad it's clear a little too early in the film where it's going. Interspersed with some beautiful pictures and some action moments, these 2 hours were well spent.
