“It's difficult to maintain enthusiasm for your leadership when you keep getting beat up by that old man.”
Enough potential. Beautiful locations, Kate Hudson and McConaughey, Donald Sutherland, a hidden treasure etc. Excellent material for a carefree and adventurous rom-com with some action. Unfortunately, the script is very mediocre and treasure hunting has never been so boring. And whoever came up with the idea of casting Hart as a bad guy should be fired. Fortunately, the summer temperatures and tropical locations do the actors well, and McConaughey in particular is on a roll. The interplay with Hudson is again excellent, and Sutherland and Dziena also have some nice scenes. Unfortunately, too little attention has been paid to the script.

Pretty bland.
Bland film with a remarkably good cast. We have actually seen the story many times before, but this time it is in a nice warm summer location. At least this provides a nice warm feeling. But yes, and then.
Hudson is a beautiful woman and therefore also a beautiful appearance here. McConaughey has a bit of a part that he usually plays. He does this convincingly, but he certainly doesn't play brilliantly. Besides the beautiful location, the story is quite predictable and bland.
The film is really too long, and it wasn't always that interesting. In any case, with a story like this you generally have little chance of making a really good film, and Tennant does not succeed in conjuring anything special on the screen.

Wrong stuff.
Tennant completely misses the point with this wrong mix of humor, rom-com and the treasure hunt genre - delivering a film that disappoints fans of all those genres. McConaughey is terribly obnoxious, Hudson doesn't get a chance to convince, and Sutherland and Dziena are only allowed to provide image fill. Sad to see. But perhaps the worst is that the promise of many beautiful underwater images is absolutely not fulfilled.
