Still a good movie about Eichman, didn't know the story and was interesting to watch.

That man was just as sick as Hitler and was allowed to live too long.

Very well performed by the actors.

3.5 star

I have no recollection of this.

Seen it on TV a few years ago and it stuck as quite okay at the time. By now it was time for a review and comment here and the cycle helped with that.

Anyone who expects a lot of horror in this film about the Holocaust will be a bit disappointed. Eichmann is a fairly dry account of this gentleman who has already been found and placed under Israeli guard. The film mainly focuses on the investigation of Avner Less who wants to elicit a confession from Eichmann in a number of conversations, which result in some flashbacks. It is fascinating how Eichmann in all his stiffness and silly fiddling with two pairs of glasses turns out to be as slippery as an eel and his stories float in all directions, meanwhile a race against time threatens, partly due to private concerns around Avner that are increasingly interfering with the whole event. grabs at the throat.

Kretschmann is really strong, who plays a German officer as so often, and does so with verve. The head a bit crooked, slightly conceited, that smile around the mouth, yes Kretschmann does it really well. Nice are known details such as the visit to the 'grand mufti' or certain details about the transports. Eichmann was not called the 'bookkeeper of death' for nothing and with the German predilection for administration, because everything was noted and recorded, it is a wonder that incriminating material has not been found before.

In any case, Eichmann can be called a great film with a compact running time and a Kretschmann who fits the role a lot better than Ben Kingsley in Operation Finale. The only downside is perhaps the end where only a message comes from the execution and we no longer have any reaction in that sense from Eichmann himself and how true the fuss is all about Baroness Von Ihama. But fine, the film is good enough in my opinion.
