Op Zoek naar Joods Amsterdam plot
Memory of Jewish Amsterdam is an ode to the relationship that Amsterdam and the Jews had with each other before the Second World War. Diamond workers, acid depositors, teachers, rabbis, tailors, journalists, merchants, doctors: they tell about their profession, their religion, the old Jewish quarter, nightlife, immigration and Zionism. This creates a mosaic of memories that provides a picture of the time up to 1940, when Amsterdam and the Jews meant so much to each other. In addition, the documentary is a history of poverty, the crisis, the labor movement and the cultural and intellectual emancipation of the Jews.
