Small but nice. Won't appeal to the masses, typical production for the cinema, and although that is certainly not always a recommendation in my personal experience, I found this one to be good. Calmly told story that on the surface is about a theatre group that works on improvisation, but in a broader sense also has something positive to say about working relationships, cooperation and how to deal with it when there is a kink in the cable in those areas. It all seems quite lifelike, sometimes even like a documentary, but it is especially a relief to see for once that suddenly making different choices does not automatically have to lead to arguments, conflicts and painful farewells. Respect is ultimately paramount for the characters in Don't Think Twice and respect is also what I feel for the makers of this.

Good film about an improvisational theatre group that gets into trouble when their theatre is closed. Despite the fact that the film is about an improvisational theatre group, there is little to laugh about. But the film is not exactly a comedy. The dynamics of the group both on- and off-stage are excellently presented here. A small 3.5 stars.

Well-acted drama film that has less to do with comedy than you would think in advance. The personal situations between the characters are given priority and they are far from funny. The cast members do well when they are on stage together and know how to handle the improvisations, but they cannot hide the fact that they do not come across as very interesting or innovative characters. As a result, director and actor Mike Birbiglia brings little innovation and that does not produce a very special end result. Thanks to a fairly direct approach and the convincing acting, Don't Think Twice gets a few bonus points.
