Burke & Hare plot
"The pimps and the prostitutes and the body-snatchers. The brothels and dens of iniquity."
The year is 1828 and the place is Edinburgh, Scotland. Universities of medicine need corpses and providing dead prisoners is not enough to satisfy all surgeons. dr. Robert Knox prefers to buy his cadavers. When a tenant in an inn dies, Burke and Hare decide to sell the body. They get a large sum of money for it, which encourages them to sell even more corpses, but they are no longer limited to the bodies of people who have already died...

Apart from the lurid fact, the film has too few horror elements to be able to speak of a horror film. The story starts a bit slow and mainly focuses on the two gentlemen Burke ( Derren Nesbitt ) and Hare
( Glynn Edwards ) who get the idea not only to dig up the dead and sell them as cadavers to a doctor for scientific purposes, but also to look for even more bodies by killing. The story mainly takes place in the poky streets and in a bar where hookers are present. For example, you see some nude passing by, including the beautiful Marie (Françoise Pascal). 5/10
