Jean Shelby is a member of a family of Confederate sympathizers during the American Civil War. Jean has been collecting information about the Northerners and giving it to the Confederates. So the Northern Yankees try to arrest Jean's family with the help of a disowned Native American who has a grudge against Jean's family. When Jean falls in love with a Yankee captain, their plans and loyalty are tested.
