La Romana plot
"Love was her profession... men were her career!"
Adriana, a poor but beautiful girl in search of happiness, becomes a painter's model but, after a failed love affair with a driver, she finds herself in the world of prostitution. She falls in love with Gino, an anti-fascist activist. When the police arrest the young man, he gives the names of his companions in exchange for his freedom. Afterwards he feels guilty and gets deeper and deeper into the pit. Even Adriana's love and efforts to lift him up aren't enough to get Gino out of his depression.

This film about the failed love relationships of a young woman during the fascist regime has now passed its sell-by date. But seeing “La Lollo” remains a treat, of course. In this film, not only the men, but also the camera are in love with her; as usual.
