Loose bag that doesn't even pop. It's not much as an atmosphere sketch, but as a crime drama, coming-of-age or whatever you want to call it, it's downright boring. None of the three who has an appealing or striking role and the center of the group occasionally reads it through his voice-over. Baldwin has hardly anything to do.

The story goes a little further. Every now and then there is a bit of life in the brewery, but if it is not already broken, it is immediately nipped in the bud. Also nominated for the most laughable sit-down ever. Most interesting moments are the news reports about the real mafia. That says enough.

This mafia film is not that bad in itself and has a fairly pensive content. Yet the film shows too little guts to make it through and then the story is just not interesting enough to keep the film afloat. Comparable films within the genre such as Blood in Blood out is the real deal and this is not even in the shadows.

Reasonable film about three best friends growing up in Brooklyn whose lives are influenced by the mafia. A simple story with a simple structure, but the friendship is well portrayed and the whole easily looks away. I wouldn't call this a real mafia movie, though, that's too much of an aside for that. A small 3.0 stars.
