I think the film would like to be a mix of something like 'Before Sunrise', 'The Lovely Bones' with a touch of 'The Notebook', but then it really can't compete with those films. Rather sweet and a bit ordinary, ie with the atmosphere and look of 'The Bold & The Beautiful' X 'english soap'. I didn't think the fantasy element was added enough to take it out of that atmosphere. Too little flair to captivate, it seemed like a family video every now and then, like the wedding, including the hugely bad played back act, brrr.

I thought this movie had something to do with it. I think people who look back on their lives always give an extra touch to a story. Life always turns out differently than we think in advance. Ann Grant had the talent to set up a career as a singer, but due to circumstances this did not happen. The flashbacks on her life are beautifully rendered and the acting performances of the other cast I have little to criticize. Meryl Streep once again played her part excellently, a real professional. Evening never rises above itself, but still intrigues you. 3 stars for now.

What an extremely predictable dragon. How is it possible that there are so many talented and/or attractive actors on the poster without even a spark of life in the story? Well acted? Oh well, it must be ... sister A thinks that sister B is too good, and sister B thinks that sister A lives too wild, and then sister A says she is pregnant, and then they fall into each other's arms..
