Antônia - O Filme plot
"All It Takes Is Everything You Have."
This film tells the story of the rise, fall and resurrection of a rap group in one of the deprived neighborhoods of São Paulo, Brazil. In Vila Brasilândia, a suburb of São Paulo, four girls who work as backing singers start the rap group Antonia. They hope to build an independent existence with their music. For a moment it seems that the circumstances are cooperating. Then the raw reality at the bottom of Brazilian society takes over again. Poverty, violence and machismo cause the four girls to see not only their cooperation, but also their friendship go up in smoke.
