James W once again knows how to create a creepy atmosphere and how to manage a fairly simple story that it is still exciting. In terms of modern Horror I think Because really one of the best directors. The man delivers a good movie every time. I hadn't seen this one yet, but after watching this one, I've seen all his movies. And there is no 1 insufficient. Back to the movies. Simple but exciting and effective

Good review.

I wanted to review this movie again after seeing James Wan's Aquaman. Both movies used to get 3.0* from me, but I just wanted to make sure that Aquaman was Wan's worst movie yet. And I can be sure about that now, Wan just suits horror better.

Although Aquaman and Dead Silence are difficult to compare, Dead Silence is just a good addition to the genre. One of his first horror films, but also in 2007 Wan proved to have mastered the genre. I therefore wholeheartedly retract my previous post, in which I described Dead Silence as least Wan. But all my posts from 2018 are full of bits that I quickly take back.

This film may not be as "scary" as his later haunted house horror films, but it delivers the necessary dose of suspense. Wan loves scares and a spooky atmosphere, and that breaks through early in Dead Silence. The film is eerily decorated and decorated. A real walk in a haunted house. I like it.

The effects and cinematography are very good. Regularly there is also something fun (pun intended) with sound and other editing. The build-up of tension isn't the best element in this film, and the pay-offs are also a bit uncertain, so the film is never unnerving. Still, there is a lot of horror to be seen, which makes it a bit good.

However, it remains the look of the film that does it. It all looks so good, much, much better than in comparable horror movies. So you see that budget can really be supportive in horror movies. It also does not last long, making it ideal for a quick round of shudders in the evenings. Wan has made scarier movies, but this was a nice application to his famous universe.
