Altered isn't even a bad movie. At least he's better than Seventh Moon and the overrated Blair Witch Project. Especially the last one was quite subtle, but there is no subtlety in this alien horror.
There is hardly any story and the structure is almost completely skipped. I didn't find the setting that exciting and sometimes even a bit boring. It largely takes place in one location, a house in redneckland. The alien is kept mysterious at first, half covered, but soon the film turns into a half action movie and throws all the tension aside.
I think the alien looks pretty good actually and Altered has some nice scenes. The gutscene is not to be taken seriously but that doesn't make it any less entertaining. However, most credits have to go to the make-up of the annoying Cody. Amazingly good and really horribly made. On the other hand, unfortunately, there is an uninteresting cast that does not manage to cultivate a single shred of sympathy. That is why the film is not interesting all the time. Dialogues that aren't engaging and a cast you don't give a shit about. Still a small enough for alien and make-up effects.

Miss Sánchez, who tries everything, but quickly kills his film. A rubber alien who can be seen fast and often. Somehow still a funny appearance, but in a shapeless film like this it doesn't work. Attempts at humor, they are there, without making a fist. Exciting, scary or something along those lines; it's not in there. Not nice company either. Under the leadership of that annoying Cody there is soon nothing to get. He then gets a hard time, with which Sánchez still somewhat revenges himself in terms of gore, but then he ends up with a weird ship. It lacks the (wrong) drive to get away with that sort of thing.

There is no introduction, you get right into the action. It is explained in the course of the film. But come on ey, the location is perfect, nice atmosphere, do something with it. The beginning was promising, in the middle of the forest, but once in the house everything was gone. A few quarrels, characters tell their stories, Mrs.
They don't know what to do with the alien, and then he escapes. Then it really started to get going, the tension was there. But not for long. Luckily something else happened in the movie, because I was almost asleep. The gore may be there, but the alien didn't look like it which made it more funny than scary.
If they leave with a car, it turns out that the alien has been switched. That man is going to walk home again, happily through the woods. I don't understand what happened then. Man closes eyes and is invisible? If the film finally goes through the woods, it will be worked out like this. That could have been better. Are they going to tell you the whole movie that the other aliens are coming too, I thought there would finally be some tension. They only come at the end and also just before the explosion. But the worst part of the film was the spaceship, boy what fake and unnecessary.
The film had a thin story, the location was perfect, but was not used. The alien looked bad, but the gore was there. The dialogues were to cry. All in all a funny movie, nothing special. The poster is nice by the way.
