"HE'S GONE TO THE DOGS...And He Likes It!"
Ted Wilson (Charles Laughton) spends his days full of booze and fun in the Netherlands Antilles. Martha (Elsa Lanchester) is the neat, godly sister of missionary Owen Jones (Tyrone Guthrie). She makes every effort to keep Ted from his bad habits, which, however, turns out not to be so easy. But then a cholera epidemic ravages the island and everyone has to show what they're worth.
