"Marrying a complete stranger is a life sentence."

Anderson (Jason Biggs) is all set to give his heart to his perfect girlfriend, but hers turns out to be no match. She does not survive his ultimate romantic marriage proposal and leaves Anderson broken. A year later, his best friend Ted (Michael Weston) tells him it's time to start dating again. Anderson doesn't quite like that advice; he prefers to skip that difficult phase. In the middle of the lunchroom where they are sitting, he therefore proposes to the first woman he sees, waitress Katie (Isla Fisher). She could also use a twist in her life and immediately says 'yes' overjoyed!

Starting the movie somewhere in the night without too many expectations, was really just hoping to enjoy Isla Fisher a bit and so just let the rest come to me.

But was very pleasantly surprised and actually enjoyed all the jokes and strange characters with their strange behavior and actions throughout the movie. So I was surprised when I saw the score here.

Maybe it had something to do with my mood, but I actually laughed through the whole movie and I wasn't really annoyed by clichés (which are of course noticeable). Wasn't really busy there at all because the last joke I couldn't remember was still on my mind and as soon as I focused on the movie again the next hilarious scene was already there. It's not all that deep, but that's not part of a film like this either.

Maybe just not recommended if you want to put on a movie in a dark corner with a bad mood on your own.

Biggs is ideal for the role and Isla is super charming. All in all, a fun and sweet film. Nice to see once.

Nice.

Surprisingly funny and sometimes refreshing romcom that, in my opinion, stands out above most of its contemporaries. Normally I'm not the biggest Biggs fan because of his unoriginal roles (he's always a bit of the odd loser) and despite the fact that he repeats his moves again, he's genuinely more fun here.

Still, Fisher is the show stealer. She plays a genuinely nice character who sometimes goes a bit too far. Fisher can probably do little about that, because the film seems to really write the jokes itself. Still, I think Black handles it all a lot better, creating a film that is sometimes genuinely funny, and finally made me laugh for once.

Furthermore, this is a romcom that follows many well-known lines, but often does it just a bit more fun. It does keep things a bit safe and that gets in the way of a seriously high rating. By that I mean that it all remains predictable at all times and should mainly have the acting, the humor and a few daring moments. Not that this film pushes the limits, but some jokes really shouldn't be made these days.

Directing is also a good element, especially in terms of story. The humor works and the story flows smoothly, the execution itself may not be exciting enough as it all remains fairly classic, but I should be content that these kinds of films will offer little uplifting visually. It doesn't matter if the story works, and it does here.

The sometimes fun paths the film takes, the chemistry and the course make Wedding Daze. It remains a safe rom-com that does not do anything innovative across borders, but is very nice to look at, does not last too long and has a very nice duo in the lead role. Of course not every joke is spot on, but if these kinds of movies really make me laugh, you'll be fine.
