Funny movie for an evening. I was already familiar with Lonely Island, but I never expected that they would ever make a movie out of it. You have to like humor in the film, could laugh a lot myself now and then, but some jokes were quite uncomfortable. Strange that so many well-known artists participate in it!

Half funny and half cringeworthy, all in all great entertainment for an evening, 3.0!

What starts promisingly as a modern take on This is Spinal Tap targeting pop stars like Justin Bieber and One Republic, collapses after fifteen minutes when the good ideas run out and the faux-documentary decays into an uninspired comedy about a self-overestimating solo artist whose second album flops so much that he can only save his career by collaborating with a rapper [Chris Redd], but eventually falls back on the two boys he made music with as a child. Too many half-baked ideas and too emphatic attempts to be funny and music that Freddie Mercury certainly wouldn't have wanted to hear at his Tribute concert. Samberg should have provided a better scenario, because after the first 15 minutes the number of funny moments can be counted on one hand. P!nk has an amusing cameo, but nothing beats the contribution of 90s pop star Seal.

Nice film about a popular pop star whose second album will be released full of expectations. A nice persiflage/mockumentary. A good pace and although the humor is not equally funny everywhere, this does not matter much because the joke density is high. No shortage of cameos. Easily 3.0 stars, but the film certainly should not have lasted longer.
