The Free World plot
"Only love can truly set us free."
After an unjust prison sentence, we find Mohammad in an animal shelter, where he can identify with the neglected and abused animals. He converted to Islam and changed his birth name to Martin. Because he has become so used to small spaces, he only finds sleep in his closet. Due to violent circumstances, Doris, wife of an abusive cop, steps into his life where Mohammad can identify with her. A crime connects them and Mohammad, knowing he will end up in jail again, decides to help Doris.
