The Gourmet Detective plot
Henry Ross is a culinary expert and knows all about the San Francisco culinary scene. When a good friend's five-star restaurant has been sabotaged for a while, it ends in a gruesome murder. Henry is called in by the police to help clear the case, and he must work with Inspector Maggie Price to do so. Maggie doesn't make it easy for him though.
