Armando, Portret van een vriend plot
'That repulsive creature called man makes the most beautiful things', says the artist Armando. "I think that's amazing." He is active as a painter, sculptor, graphic artist, poet, writer, filmmaker, theater maker, actor and musician. 'I am one-sided in my versatility,' he says about the range of activities. Cherry Duyns (1944) interviews his fifteen-year-older friend Armando, with whom he performed for years in the absurdist sketches of Herenleed. He follows him at his farewell concert as a violinist, at the opening of an exhibition, and at sculpture and painting. Flashbacks provide an overview of the development of his artistry, from which Armando has only been able to make a living since he was fifty.
