All Quiet on the Western Front plot
"They left for war as boys, never to return as men."
In 1914, a group of schoolboys, full of ideals, are urged by their chauvinistic teacher to enlist in the army for the "glorious war". They put their signatures full of fire and patriotism. The agony begins during the first brutal basic training and once on the train to the front, the first horrors of the front line begin. The reality of war is slowly becoming visible. One by one the schoolboys are killed...

Outdated, no longer impresses today. Not at all exciting or gripping.
The intention was mainly anti-war and that is too little.
The fact that Germans speak English does the film no good either

It's a pity that the film is not in German, but that is one of the few blemishes on this film! The last few weeks seen a lot of war violence in films including 1917, but this remake is one of the better films in the genre.
It lasts over 2 and a half hours but the time flies by and the film continues to fascinate you.
Soon also give the original a chance and compare, according to many also a jewel.
This remake gets an 8 from me!
