La Bande à Papa plot
Fernand Jérôme is a bank clerk who is often made fun of by his colleagues. This changes, however, when one day he foils a bank robbery. His girlfriend Renée also suddenly looks at him with different eyes. Renée is the daughter of the clumsy Police Inspector Merlerin, who has spent the last three years chasing "Le Grand J", a notorious crook. Fernand is surprised when his father returns after an absence of twenty-five years. He is even more surprised when he discovers that his father is "Le Grand J".
