Received the German Blu-ray yesterday and watched it late that evening (in Italian with German subs).

A decent Spaghetti Western, a sort of impossible mission carried out by a group of specialists, but this time not in a WWII setting, but "disguised" as a Spaghetti Western. The film starts off well, but ultimately failed to fully live up to my expectations.

What was it about? Perhaps the story and the ensuing action were all somewhat of the same caliber: as soon as one army base was raided, they'd attack the next. It was also a bummer how, towards the end, one member of the specialist group would abruptly meet their Waterloo, as if you were watching Agatha Christie's "Ten Little Indians."

The finale also felt a bit rushed, and you really miss a real final confrontation with the villain. Honestly, I didn't quite understand where Connors apparently hid the money in the water so the others couldn't find it. That last bit was very rushed and vague.

As for the actors, Connors is of course a class act and seems made for the genre, it's a shame he mainly starred in American productions.

Wolf is a familiar face in Italian westerns and has played many supporting roles. To be honest, it took me at least five minutes to recognize him without his trademark moustache, but now with dyed black hair.

The rest of the cast consisted entirely of B-actors, most of whom were adequate, only the Hercules actor was very mediocre.

Still quite amused, so a solid six, or 3 stars.

A fine film in itself, except for the action, which is tedious and takes up about half the running time. However, the cinematography, editing, and music (fairly restrained, though perhaps a bit too repetitive for its 100 minutes) are all fine.

I was quite bored during this dull western by Castellari. It lacks everything that makes a Spaghetti Western good in my opinion: a top-notch soundtrack, good characters, and drawn-out scenes with excellent cinematography.

Castellari crams it full of acrobatic stunts and fistfights. That makes it look rather dated, and above all, it's not interesting for a minute.
