Christmas is approaching. A student house for girls is almost extinct. The residents left behind celebrate the start of the Christmas holidays. Then one of the girls from the sorority disappears. Not that I think the original is a real winner, but it is still much better than this rubbish that has not touched me in any way.
This remake also suffers from the explanation syndrome. Where the original is very atmospheric and above all mysterious, you don't need any kind of fantasy in the 2006 version. Everything is explained through flashbacks and Billy's escape is also something completely unnecessary. Purely time-consuming to keep the film somewhat interesting. In addition, the film is much less mysterious, the last twenty minutes are quite boring and it is a pity that the killers are constantly shown with their heads up. Does the director really not get it at all?
The characters in the student house are anything but fascinating, something that was a bit stronger in the original. The body count is also much higher (helps little if the girls are not interesting) and by means of some dirty tricks the film tries to be a bit fun. However, this doesn't work at all.
Well, then there's not much left. I would still recommend the original to people and try to avoid this version as much as possible.

Bad horror movie, Black Christmas is a 13-in-a-dozen slaughter movie in my opinion. I haven't seen the original yet, but it can only be better than this dull, soulless movie. The actors, the plot, the camera work, almost everything about this film is mediocre. The flashbacks are poorly found, characters without substance. Actually, I don't even want to go deep into it, this film is not worth that.

Thought when purchasing that this was the version from the 1970s, but after reading carefully and seeing the actors and directors, it turned out to be this version. Kind of stupid of me, but whatever.
Haven't seen the original, but this remake. So can't compare, but okay. This movie wasn't that bad in itself, although I didn't remember much since I saw it 2 days ago...
What I remember was; some nice scares (of which the moment in the hospital was by far the best. The Christmas atmosphere was also very nice in this horror.
What I regretted was that I expected a nice simple slasher, just as nice to see mind-to-zero and severed heads. I did see one, but this didn't satisfy my 'hunger'. The kills were all not really successful (and that whole gouging out thing was really a clincher for the kills).
Anyway, it looked nice.
