Based on a super popular manga + hype, so you can expect a poppy finish. A bit of a shame, because there could have been more in it.

Not in the least because Nana manages to choke two of Japan's nicest (and most beautiful ) young actresses. After Hana & Alice I am eagerly looking forward to new films by Aoi Miyazaki, and Nakashima was also convincing earlier (in a somewhat more insignificant film). Both do well here too, nice chemistry between both ladies, but the film does not always want to go along.

Every now and then beautiful scenes, some very nice and touching parts even. But just when you really think you can dream away, another bad scene comes. They are not too numerous fortunately, but in the end it is still a pity. Nana especially deserved a better director. Why not Iwai or something again, the perfect director for this kind of lovely films.

In the end it doesn't leave a bad aftertaste, there just could have been a lot more. Otherwise a pleasant film, although the female beauty also has something to do with it. 3*

I just read in the commentary of my predecessor that this film is mainly intended for teenagers and adolescents. Here I am with my good behavior and my good feeling. Because although according to some I do not belong to the target group, I find this film about a warm friendship between two young women with a completely different background very beautiful.

I was particularly impressed by the layered performance of Mika Nakashima. Too bad that Aoi Miyazaki can't help but —as so often— come out with a slightly sulky mouth at every opportunity.

In my opinion, there is little to criticize about Kentarô Ôtani's direction. The remarks that Shunji Iwai would have done better, I consider as mere idle talk.

Quite a nice film about two young women who meet and have the same name. That's where the similarities end, because in terms of character and appearance the two women are each other's opposites. Yet it clicks wonderfully between the two and then a pretty solid story unfolds.

A film that also revolves around relationships and lost loves. Perhaps a bit tailored to a younger audience, but that doesn't mean others can't enjoy it too.

Not all that great, but a pleasant viewing experience. Great music too with that rock band. Aoi Miyazaki is great here (but tiring) and there is quite a bit of chemistry between the two.
