Undisputed II: Last Man Standing plot

"Wrongfully Accused. Unjustly Imprisoned. Now He's Fighting Back."

George "Iceman" Chambers, a former world boxing champion, has fought all his life to amass fame, money and titles. Some consider him to be the greatest boxer to ever stand in the ring. No one expected that he would fall so low. When George stops boxing, he will be without money and without a job. He is disillusioned and wants nothing more to do with boxing. His manager Phil arranges for him to perform in a Vodka commercial in Russia. During the shooting, the local police find a large amount of heroin in George's hotel room. Though innocent, he is convicted and imprisoned in one of the worst prisons in Russia. It's cold and filthy, and the director is the sadistic Gaga. Coincidentally, this Gaga isn't crazy about boxing at all...

Quite a dime a dozen not very original prison fight film that is full of clichés and which also has a very predictable course.

It is still entertaining to watch, especially because of the best spectacular fighting action (that's what you actually watch these kinds of films for, because the stories themselves usually don't steal much and that is also the case with this film), which is also beautiful. was displayed on the screen. In particular, protagonist Scott Adkins (in the role of the Russian Yuri Boyka) is doing well and especially his legs are an important weapon. It's nice that he also plays the lead role in the third part of the "Undisputed" series, which also connects seamlessly to the end of this movie.

The other lead actor Michael Jai White (in the role of the American George Chambers, who shits everywhere, by the way literally applies in this film, and who doesn't care about rules. That often gets him into trouble, of course. prison) regularly indulges in fighting (both in the prison ring and outside the prison ring). Outside of the fights, there is also a story that revolves around the disabled (wheelchair confined) "Crot" who was creditably played by Eli Danker. That story even produced an emotional scene at the end

All in all, nice to see, but nothing more. Let's just say on to the third part.

Nice! Very nice! Now I'm quite familiar with Michael J. White and Scott Adkins, but I did watch this one with a look that's somewhere between an open mouth and a big smile. Both gentlemen can fight wonderfully and are certainly no fools when it comes to acting. The prison story is indeed not special, but it is pleasant to sit out. Crot is also a good character who also gives this film the necessary flair.

I'm still surprised to read all the moderate comments. The action (which is what this movie is all about) is flashy! As soon as Boyka or Chambers come into the picture, something happens. Two characters that are impressive just to look at. I also had to suppress a laugh when they beat other inmates for a wrong (re)action. There is momentum in this film and the Siberian prison is quite impressive. This is an above-average prison film, but very strong as a tournament film.
