The Adventures of Gerard plot
Colonel Gerard (Peter McEnery) is an officer of Napoleon's hussars, during the battle against Spain in 1808. He is close to Napoleon and is therefore the right prey for the seductive Countess Teresa (Claudia Cardinale), who was commissioned by the British to carry the " little corporal" spies.

It starts with a voice-over that goes on for too long (and keeps coming back). Totally unfunny slapstick and clownish fast motion that gets on your nerves. Eli Wallach as Napoleon acting like a dim-witted buffoon and an overacting Claudia Cardinale portraying an unbelievable guerrilla leader. Fortunately, there is a comedic note in the person of Massena, and despite all the misery, the protagonist remains reasonably imperturbable. Gerard wears a beige dolman with a red sash and gold-colored braids, a brown pelisse draped over it, tight beige trousers, and a matching beige shako pocket (the flap on the hood). My fascination with Napoleonic uniforms is simply great, and the costumes look tip-top. That is why 3 stars.
