"The Most Amazing Story Of Survival, Friendship, And Adventure Ever Told."
Jerry Shepard (Walker), his friend Cooper (Biggs) and a rough geologist (Greenwood) are three members of a scientific expedition in Antarctica. An accident and severe weather conditions force them to abandon their team and their sled dogs. In Antarctica's harsh winter, the dogs must survive on their own for six months.

Great family movie that I just saw for the first time. Predictable of course, but which Disney isn't.... I'll take a few silly funny scenes into the bargain. The images are breathtaking and trigger the emotion.

A film that goes far on the basis of sentiment. He had me too. But there are a few things wrong with the film. The cast plays weakly across the board, the script and dialogues are also not strong. Not to mention the leopard seal's bad SFX.
And yet the film grabs you by the throat. The dogs (and the trainers) are definitely the star players. Very impressive to see. *3.5

Eight Below is a classic example of Disney at its best. The atmosphere and setting are fantastic and the natural images are truly a feast for the eyes. How the dogs have been trained to create such a film is unbelievably clever. The late Paul Walker is doing a fantastic job. Very pleasant movie.
