So many years later, the tension has trickled down a bit. This is of course because it now seems a bit clumsy here and there. There are a few around Brolin who don't get much further than reading their already weak lyrics and the kills lack venom. The fast motion doesn't really help either.

The Car is not an attack on the nails (anymore), but it does have a kind of kitschy charm that actually makes it especially funny. That's how often you see a car don't get mad. The four-wheeler itself has a threat, but the layout is on the round side. You expected it to be a little sharper, a little more grim.

Nevertheless, the scenes where it looms in the distance are fine (nice setting too) and the way two police cars are crushed is slightly memorable. At least I could laugh about it. And so there is still something to enjoy. Enough to call it fun.

yes at that time there were no computers i was looking for it for a long time i don't know how many years old i was when i saw it but i'm glad i found it on dvd. because those are films that are spit out by many because those people don't understand anything about such films. then you can also say duel about that man who is being chased and terrorized by a guy and a dirty trick. so is is nothing else than that man and the two cars and you never see that man even though it is a living person. it's just classic made with simple things. now everything is made with computers. and if you are a collection of old movies then you are just happy. it's like people are looking for something some people don't like it but oh well it's just nostalgia for the cult fans

70s schlock. The sheriff of a Texan village has his hands full with a car that kills innocent people... That car has no purpose in itself and the final is therefore a serious disappointment. I thought the story was junk, but there are also positive points: the action scenes, photography and James Brolin (who looks a lot like his son Josh here) make The Car definitely worth a look. A few scenes were quite rude like when Lauren comes to her end.
