Although all very cliché and also predictable, it was nevertheless a nice family movie. The story was quite nice (sometimes touching but that's usually when you put an animal in a movie) and the images of Alaska looked nice. Also nice to see Ethan Hawke in one of his first movies.

By the way, I thought the end of the film was very bland, first he supposedly chases the wolf away and then he goes back and the wolf comes back too

Excellent film in which a young man goes to Alaska to search for good just like his father before. A beautiful story about the relationship that can develop between humans and animals. Adventurous and above all beautiful images of nature in Alaska. Ethan Hawke does a great job and the wolf scenes look good. A narrow 4.0 stars.

Beautiful images of nature with a still quite young Hawke , the story is of course a real Disney tearjerker but is reasonably put together .

the story of the wolf is less convincing , Disney has always had as a kind of trademark to give animals human emotions and sometimes that comes across as naive .

But I can overlook that if the story is well put together.
