Blinkende Lygter plot
Four little gangsters from Copenhagen have to deliver a suitcase with 4 million crowns. However, they decide to run off with the money and flee to Barcelona. On the way to Barcelona, however, their car breaks down and they have to hide in an abandoned house for the time being until Peter's gunshot wounds are healed. After a while, they get plans to convert the house into a restaurant and start a new life. Over time, however, they have to deal with their past again.

seems to want to choose between lame comedy-in-crime and drama and therefore fails at both.
there is certainly funny humor in it, but it stays with one-liners and not in the sarcastic way like the (seemingly) British examples. especially in the flashbacks in the very dramatic and actually it's not really good for anything, except to show how the 4 know each other, but that could easily have been done without.
The acting is nowhere really convincing, again because of the doubt between comedy and drama. the poster shows all smiling faces, while that never happens in the movie: very weird. Mikkelsen does a Steve Buscemi goes Begbie.
the story is thin and ending with a 'real' restaurant (of course, with customers and all) was completely cringe-inducing. no, leave this genre to the British, the Scandinavians are clearly better at thrillers.

Farcical crime comedy about four gangsters, who come up with the idea to start a restaurant in a remote dilapidated farm. As befits farces, the film occasionally goes off the rails. Overall, a very entertaining film with the crème de la crème of Danish cinema (Thomsen, Gråbøl, Mikkelsen, Kaas and others)

Anders Thomas Jensen has the gift of turning a (crime) story into a light-hearted whole in which his characters get away with their less ethical sides. He is indeed strengthened here by always being able to draw on a Danish star cast. The same actors often return: Mads Mikkelsen, Ulrich Thompsen and Nicolaj Lie Kaas are, just like Nicolas Bro, among his favorite actors. And that helps, because they often bring something extra to their often twisted characters.
Absurdity is just a common thread in his films. It's no different here, where 4 petty criminals on the run from "real" gangsters don't think it's better to go into hiding and open a restaurant. Great scenes at moments like the one with the passionate hunter/farmer who wouldn't look out of place as the fifth member of the gang. The characters are over the top, as are some situations, but Jensen just gets away with it. Just like he got away with it in Riders of justice (Film, 2020).
That Easter egg scene is indeed a fun one and Sofie Grabol does a great job here too. Hilarious to see Nicolaj Lie Kaas look with fear for what is to come... Great!
