I think Giallo is already a genre in its own right. But this movie seems even weirder than average to me. It's a mix of giallo and softcore/porn. Lots of nude scenes up to and including female frontal masturbation. However, this way it limps on 2 legs. The expected suspense in such a film does not materialize, regardless of the precarious situations the victims find themselves in. What's the reason? The camera eagerly zooms in on shapely bodies. At times I wondered if I was watching Emanuelle. I've seen a version dubbed in English which also creates a sense of detachment anyway. The camera work in combination with the sound effects gave a trippy, psychedelic effect. Weird angles, zooms… The finale is gruesome but is reeled in at 20 seconds, with really ridiculously exaggerated dramatic close-ups of the killer going down. And then Klaus Kinski is also walking around in the middle of this mess .

I wouldn't call it a good movie. But it is so grotesque, unbalanced and weird that it is nice to have seen this once again.
