Mary is a hip young woman with a full wardrobe and an apartment in New York. She calls her godmother (a librarian) and asks her to pay her bail, because she was arrested during an illegal house party. To repay her aunt, she goes to work in a library. At first she doesn't like it, but after a while she starts to appreciate it.

A decent film about a young woman who hasn't quite got her life together and starts working in a library. It's fragmented in its structure and lacks substance. Parker Posey delivers an entertaining performance and some excellent dialogue. It's also a nice piece as a historical document, especially with the soundtrack.
