Quite a famous film, but doomed to fail because of its home-video look. Filmed entirely in snuff-scenes. Especially the night-time city shots are eye-catchers, they capture the period well. Scene with Tony Todd as the owner of that sleazy video store is fantastic. Furthermore a (as his reputation claims) quite bloody event. Crazy neo-Nazi who goes wild on a number of porno heads. Been there, done that. And yet it is quite entertaining. Sadistic nonsense, gets/got more attention than is good.

Yet another horror that clearly wants to rely on its shock value.

That's possible, I was in shock when I saw cannibal holocaust which I have seen with remarkable fascination several times. What a misery and coarseness, but in a strange way also humor.

I was also angry, mad, after seeing Srpski Film (2010), which according to some is exactly the intention. And so it worked for me.

This completely misses its mark if that is his intention, it is empty, sadistically useless.

Explained by some sort of Nazi motif.

To my great surprise Candyman/finan destination Tony Todd hero was in this. He is the only one who has a nice role by addressing the main character quite a bit.

Furthermore the acting and the music are really terrible. The gore was well done for such a low budget.

Still curious?Watch it yourself.

Funny,

In preparation for the horror challenge I dived into some lists with some "more extreme" horror films. I was going to save it initially but I didn't really have room for it anymore and I really needed one today. Usually these types of films are quite disappointing and although this is certainly not the most extreme film it does make an attempt.

At least, the acts in this film are fairly brutal (rape, necrophilia, torture, murder of a child and even a pretty striking scene with a baby), but because of the film style (which is fairly amateurish) it is never really shocking or crossing boundaries. That could have been done quite well towards the end (by torturing/raping his ex a bit more extensively or else/even better her sister and also a fairly prominent character in the film), but Palumbo goes for a middle way and does that quite well.

If you can put the amateurism aside a bit, this is ultimately a fairly entertaining horror with some unique scenes that are definitely worth watching.

3*
