Eleven-year-old Toni, a tough girl who also boxing, is eager to join a tight-knit Cincinnati West End dance company. Charmed by the strength and confidence of this strong community of girls, Toni eagerly absorbs the routines and mores of the group. She even pierces her ears to fit in with the group. The mystery strikes when more and more members of the team pass out. Toni's desire to be accepted changes.
