A Hazard of Hearts plot

When gambling addict Sir Giles Staverley has lost all his fortune, he bets the last he has: his daughter Serena. He loses her to the false Lord Wrotham. Their host Lord Vulcan lets his heart speak and plays with Lord Wrotham, using Serena's hand as a bet. Lord Vulcan wins and is happy to have rescued the girl from Wrotham's hands. When he then meets Serena, she turns out to be more attractive than he could have ever imagined. Based on a story by Barbara Cartland.
