"A Love Legend"
Aspiring lawyer Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukerji) visits Indian rescue worker Veer Pratap Singh (Shak Rukh Khan), who has spent 22 years in a Pakistani prison. All these years Veer has not spoken a word, but now he breaks his silence and tells Saamiya his story. It starts with his meeting Zaara (Preity Zinta) during one of his rescues. Zaara is the daughter of an influential Pakistani politician and at the time was about to marry a man her father had chosen for her for political reasons.
