Solo, de Wet van de Favela plot
Documentary in which director Jos de Putter goes in search of promising football players in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. Football plays an important role in the hopeless existence of many young slum dwellers. A career as a professional football player is perhaps the only way for them to escape the ubiquitous atmosphere of violence and crime. The documentary focuses on two inseparable 11-year-old friends who play football together for a local team. A long-cherished dream seems to come true when a scout from a wealthy Brazilian club offers them a football contract. After a trial match, one of the friends is faced with a dilemma.
